Scripture: “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 NKJV.
Inspiration Source: In the Eye of the Storm by Max Lucado.
Reflection: In the Eye of the Storm prompted me to think about the unpredictability found in our daily lives. “Stormy Journey” seemed to fit this thought. It depicts the constant motion we have with the life-happenings throughout our lifetime. Whether our days move from joy to sorrow or calm to turbulence, the ups and downs of life create stormy seasons in our life. Through it all, though, Jesus is with us as our guide and protector of our soul.
Many years ago, I read a poem about ships. The poem used ships as a metaphor for our life journeys. Ships, in this sense, sail out to sea, moving through the waves until finally out of vision, never to return. Visualizing the ship moving through the water, I think of moments that occur behind the ship. In my past, with a multitude of moments, there have been days with problems. During those times, I have found that God does care. He encouraged and enabled me to continue living my life in faith as I read the Bible and placed my trust in Him.
Prayer: Lord, we are grateful of your care for us. We thank you that you want us to come to you with our concerns and burdens. We thank you that all our days are in your keeping and through You our hearts can find rest.
