Artist: Charlotte Laxen Helfritz.
Medium: Watercolor pencil and permanent marker.
Scripture: When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 56:3-4 NIV.
Source of Inspiration: When We Pray Like Jesus by Elisa Morgan.
Reflect: After reading the book When we pray like Jesus by Elisa Morgan, I will never again feel that God doesn’t understand what I may be going through. For Jesus, to be God, yet fully human is so evident in His agony in the garden. Sorrowful and troubled, He expressed what He wanted but yielded to what was more important, what His Father wanted. My drawing/painting represents how He was abandoned by His followers but not by His Father. It gives me hope to realize that, no matter how alone I feel, I can trust my Father who will never leave or forsake me. Jesus was not abandoned in the garden but submitted to the cross so that I could live securely in His presence in this life and for all eternity.
Pray : Father, thank You that I am never alone and that, in every circumstance, You are always there to hold me and allow Your plan for my life to unfold. Help me to trust you. Amen.
